The country believes in religion, and there are about 102 castes and ethnic groups according to the census of 2001. The three major ethnicity are Mongloid, Khas and the Mixed One. The Khas comprise of Brahmin, Chhetri, Damai, Kami etc. Whereas, Mongloid count Gurung, Tamang, Magar, Sherpa, Thakali, Kirat and other similar ones. The Mixed Ethnicity are the Newars. Talking about religions, Hinduism and Buddhims are the major ones in the country, making Christian, Muslims and others the secondary ones.
